Lau Lau is a huge project, and with that comes its own challenges. Being unapologetically committed to our people-first values makes it hard to take on traditional investors, as we are unwilling to compromise our values and our legacy.

This means that up until this point, Lau Lau's startup funds have consisted entirely of personal savings, small business loans, and generous crowdfund donations. This is an intimidating and vulnerable risk, but one that I believe in with my whole heart.

Recently, we have partnered with Honeycomb to launch a non-traditional, donation-based investment opportunity. This allows us to receive additional financial support from our community and also gives us the opportunity to pay back our Day 1 supporters rather than making payments to a bank. Hannah will maintain 100% equity as the sole business owner, keeping our vision fully intact without compromising on any of our people-first values.

Any contribution that you make to this fund will go towards helping us complete the construction of our shop and cover initial start-up costs. This includes finishing plumbing & electrical renovations as well as purchasing remaining furnishings and equipment, which will ensure smooth and efficient business operations from day one. This will provide us with more financial stability during our initial launch before our shop starts generating substantial revenue.

We are so grateful for any penny that you might be able to contribute if your current life situation allows to do so comfortably. If you’re not able to support financially, sharing this opportunity or sending words of encouragement is more than enough and means more to than you know.
