GWA Training: Emergency Skills for Hospitality Workers

GWA Training
Ready to Respond: Emergency Skills for Hospitality Workers

Event Details

Presented by Good Work Austin in partnership with SHIFT UT and The Sobering Center, hosted at Lau Lau.

This training is meant to equip you with practical skills to respond to some of the most common emergencies food and beverage workers encounter. Whether it's recognizing an opioid overdose, knowing when to call the Sobering Center instead of law enforcement, or learning hands-only CPR, you'll leave with tools that can help save lives.

Together, we’ll:

  • Understand the current landscape of opioid use and its impact on our communities

  • Learn how to recognize an opioid overdose, administer naloxone (Narcan)

  • Learn how to make your workplace a Sobering Center referral partner

  • Learn "Take 5 CPR" a hands-only CPR training led by volunteer EMS

This training is reserved for Food & Beverage workers who are members or prospective members of Good Work Austin. Please RSVP below to secure your spot.
