Karmigurumi Kinusaiga Workshop: Painting with Fabric

Karmigurumi Kinusaiga Workshop: Painting with Fabric

Event Details

Create a one-of-a-kind portrait of your fur baby using Kinusaiga, a Japanese fabric art technique.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll create your own pet portrait using a canvas prepared from your submitted pet photo. You’ll bring your pet to life by choosing from colorful fabric scraps and tucking the fabric into pre-cut grooves to create a textured, one-of-a-kind artwork.

Before the workshop: Please email a clear photo of your pet so I can prepare your canvas ahead of time. More information on the "How it Works" section

Create for a Cause 🐾
Not only will you create a special portrait of your furry friend, but your participation will also help give back. 100% of the workshop profits will be donated to a Texas Humane Heroes (https://humaneheroes.org/)

How It Works 🐾

1. Send me your pet’s photo
Email me your favorite photo of your pet. For the best results, choose a clear, well-lit photo where their face and features are easy to see.

2. I’ll create the Kinusaiga canvas
I’ll use your photo as the reference to create and prepare the Kinusaiga canvas, including the design and pre-cut grooves.

3. You add the fabric!
At the workshop, you’ll choose from a variety of fabric scraps and learn how to tuck the fabric into the grooves to bring your pet portrait to life.

4. Take home your one-of-a-kind pet portrait 🐶🐱
You’ll leave with a handmade Kinusaiga canvas featuring your beloved pet—created by you!
